The Game Dashborad gives teachers easy access to Math Ready activities and class games, allow teachers to customize learning paths and set tasks for individual students, and see their class at a glance, all in one place!
What are Class Games?
Class games are a favorite among students, where math practice turns into a fun, competitive, and social experience. Each math activity becomes a round, with students racing to the top spot based on their speed and accuracy.
Teachers can fully customize these games to match current lessons or use ready-made games for quick practice. What’s more, teachers can divide the class by skill level in our “multi-group games”, allowing advanced students to push their limits while giving others the practice they need-all while feeling part of the action. It’s the perfect way to make math exciting and accessible for every student!
Customising game settings
With a Math Ready teacher account, educators can create custom games tailored to their classroom needs. Each game consists of timed rounds where students answer questions on a specific topic for 60 seconds, then are ranked by speed and accuracy within their group. Teachers can customize existing games by removing activities, adding new rounds from Math Ready’s extensive bank of over 250 math activities, adjusting the order of activities, and can create and save up to 10 new games from scratch. This allows for targeted content review, ensuring students retain key concepts in preparation for learning new material.
Adjusting Group Sizes
Teachers can customize group sizes for each game, determining how many students will compete within each group. While non-logged-in users have a default group size of four, groups can range from 3 to 12 students. We recommend keeping group sizes small to allow more winners per round, fostering an inclusive and enjoyable experience for both struggling and advanced students.
Multi-group Games
Classrooms often encompass a wide range of math abilities. Math Ready enables teachers to assign students to specific ‘student groups, allowing for the assignment of tailored games that promote both inclusion and participation among struggling and advanced learners. Each group can focus on the content they need to review most. In multi-group games, although students may be practicing different material, they compete within the same class and are scored based on speed and accuracy. This ensures that all students, regardless of level, can achieve recognition on the same leaderboard, giving struggling students a greater opportunity to succeed and feel included.
